In 2023, perfumer Camille Legay released five fragrances dedicated to energies, feelings and thoughts.

Her name is not heard. I worked at Mane, signed a couple of fragrances for Lorga and BDK and suddenly went free.

Camille Legay's project uses a lot of natural raw materials, not stock ones, but her own inkwell-shaped bottles created at Atelier Dinand by Pierre and Jules Dinand. The cardboard of the boxes is made from recycled and recyclable materials to reduce harm to the environment (cardboard is bad). The boxes feature lovely watercolors by artist and art therapist Amelie de Rafelis.

All in all, Camille Leguay Parfums is a beautiful, thoughtful, expensive and, with these “energies,” a very modern brand.

What about perfume? The perfume is sweet and delicate, in tune with subtle spiritual vibrations and does not injure others.

Au-delà des rêves – mimosa and sea salt. Abkhazia in February. The honey spirit of blooming mimosa trees cuts through the nervous wind from the sea. Splashes of salty surf, iodine from washed-up seaweed and yellow pollen. There is more yellow and powdery at the very beginning, and in the morning the blotter smells as if I dipped it in the sea.

Mimosa here, which is rare, does not turn into cucumbers or powder compacts. It does not transform at all, remaining a flower until the end.

La Nuit de Temps Camille Leguay – dry shortbread with raspberry jam, vanilla condensed milk, smoke and cashmeran. Contrast of cozy, gourmand smells and disturbing darkness. I don’t really like that it’s staring at me from this darkness, but fortunately the staring doesn’t last long. The dry residue contains resinous vanilla.

L'Arbre du monde does not warm up fully on the blotter. On the skin I smell anise and sweet black cardamom, unfiltered pineapple juice with orange and red grapefruit, the mineral cold smell of dry earth and the tart scent of vetiver. The total result is a relaxed, fresh glass for everyday wear.

Principe Feminin Camille Leguay is a classic, but modernized chypre with the scent of expensive soap, peaches and leather. The juicy fruity Profumo Acqua Di Parma, the pale rose and sad carnation of Mitsouko Guerlain and the feline grace of La Panthere Parfum Cartier come to mind. There's a little touch from each scent, in total something independent, comfortable and only a little bit bitchy.
